A DECADE OF KARGIL:Remembering Our hero

What has come to be known as the Kargil War took place at Kargil from May 1 to July 26, 1999, a border war between India and Pakistan and the fourth in the series of such confrontations since the First Kashmir War of 1947-48. It was also India’s first televised war, whose extensive visual reportage created a overwhelming flow in the national psyche a mere decade or so ago. But much water has happened since then, perhaps diluting if not washing away its memory altogether. So now, a decade later, maybe it is once again time to remember Kargil 1999, to ruminate and retrospect on it in the broader context of events today.

I recently checked out the new Mocha that had opened lately in Indra Nagar,Chennai.It was pretty awesome having an all retro look.You sure are taken back to the seventies the moment you step into this place.While the Mocha: Coffees and Conversations at Nungambakkam gives a Moroccan and a Middle East look with velvet and bright colored fabrics, this restaurant all together gives a different style and a look,which is quite refreshing.

The food,though a little on the expensive side is absolutely divine.It even has the calories listed on the menu for the diet conscious.The hot chocolate dishes like the 'lindt hot chocolate'

and 'toblorone shake' is bliss.Mocha Mojo also brings gastronomic revolutions — Molecular Gastronomy, a modern scientific way of preparing and presenting food that ensures the flavours and textures of each dish are tweaked to perfection.

The music selection was something that caught my attention.Coming out of those speakers were some of the greatest hits that i adore.The Queens,Pink floyd and Bob Dylan was soul stirring and is a good add on the ambience.

And wat is mocha without the Shisha,and thank god for it.Though mostly wat you get is the smaller table version,it was cool and quite invigorating.

Bottomline,the price seems to be quite on the higher side and it will draw the elite class mostly. But with no second thoughts, head straightly to Mocha Mojo and you will be transported to the 70’s in no time!
